Everyone received an acrylic/chipboard album and moved from station to station creating their unique masterpiece. I have to say that everyone that took the Build-A-Book workshop were fantastic at letting loose and letting their creativity take over. First step was to pick out your paper which could be a vintage look or a whimsical spring look. Everyone was able to pick flowers, buttons, bling, chipboard, die cuts and metal shapes to enhance their projet. Then off to Tina....
Tina helped you build a collage page and seal it with beeswax. For most this was a new technique and everyone loved to see the page change form when the beeswax added texture. Then off to our favorite altered artists Michael Putman and Lesley Fisher...
This station utilized melted UTEE and various embossing powders to create pendants that you could hang from your book rings. It was great to see the different shapes and swirls of color to build these pendants. Some of them looked like a stain glass window when poured on stamps to create an impression in the UTEE. Gorgeous!!!! Michael & Lesley will be back on June 19th to do an entire technique class on the UTEE. Next stop, Vee......
Vee worked two stations. Build-a-Bookers were able to learn to use the Melody Ross Chip Art (WAY FUN!!!) to emboss with metal letters and shapes into chipboard. Once the pieces were inked and painted the artwork just came to life. Also used the Big Shot and Tim Holtz's new die and embossing templates to create chipboard and paper embellishment items. Last but not least, time to see Jean....
Jean dazzled up everyone's books with embossing powders, glitter, flocking powder and stickles. The final touches are a very important part of personalizing the books.
This was a lot of fun and everyone learned new techniques and was able to immediately incorporate into their book. We will do this again in August 7th from 1pm-6pm, the design team of PV have already given me even more ideas for new stations. One item we can let you know that we will add a PDF board cover and a canvas page to the chipboard/acrylic album. It is going to be fantastic. Hope to see you then.
