Altered Art By Jack&Cat Curio

The store has been blessed with having local artists Michael Putman and Lesley Fisher (aka Jack & Cat Curio) to come into our store once a month and share their Ranger secrets, altered art knowledge and amazing teaching skills. Every project is unique and class participants leave with new skills and an enjoyable class experience.


December's class is a Love Nest Shadow Box. In this class students will create a special one of a kind altered art box. Students will be guided in various techniques for ageing and producing exciting textures out of everyday objects. UV Resin will also be introduced in how best to create glazed tops for collage work. Lots of imagery will be on hand for students to use. However students are encouraged to use personal imagery in their pieces. If they would like to use personal imagery from their own collections, they will need to e-mail the images to us for image preparation. So dig out your family photos. All supplies will be provided. If you have seen and admired many of the beeswax samples in the store the January class is for you. January's class is Basics of Beeswax Collage Technique Class. In this class you will be introduced to the use of beeswax for collage and scrap booking. Topics discussed will be different applications for beeswax, safety and tools, encaustic mediums and styles. Special techniques taught will include beeswax stamping, coloring and tinting, image transfers, beeswax embellishments, tissue paper and fabricks. Every student will create a stunning beeswax technique board with examples and directions for personal reference.
